Music and Studying

October 17, 2017 – There have been many studies done to show the effectiveness of music and successful study habits.   For some, playing music at a very low volume level (preferably instrumental music that won’t distract the student) can actually improve the brain’s function while studying, thus improving test scores.   Of course, this may not be for everybody, but in my experiences both as a teacher in the classroom and during tutoring sessions, on occasion, music was playing in the background and seemed to have a positive effect on the students.  Below is a link to an article discussing an experiment that was done on this very subject:
